Release Notes

This version is the first ever written by Jeffrey Khater in 2012.

Points and issues:
  • It work on most websites, depending on their HTML structure.
  • It cannot interact with pages, instead the application freezes and becomes unresponsive.
  • It cannot access locally saved web pages for analysis, the pages should be online.

Proposed added features:
  • Allow pages to be read.
  • Create a multipage reading algorithm that is fed only one URL and discovers the sequential following pages.
  • Optimization of the HTML code cleaning algorithm and methods for faster processing.
  • Include the style attribute as a needed attribute for positive segments generation.
  • Include container tags that do not have any of the positive attributes but that match the keyword or expression into the segments without overflowing the users with data (each container encapsulates several others, which generates too many unlikely possibilities).
  • Adding the data collections into a database, word file, XML, and others.
  • Porting the project from VB to C# and other languages.
  • Creating a web based publically accessible version of Bot-oto.

The project has huge room for improvement, and the improvement points will be mentioned in the documentation.

Reviews for this release

Thank you! This highly useful, yet concise program does exactly what it's author proclaims. What's more is that it provides an "instant gratification" exe and technical documentation to boot. All I can say is the world needs more developers who pay close attention to detail such as yourself! Again, thank you!!

Dear Jeffrey, I am interested in your idea and i would like and would be happy to donate if you clarify 3 things : -HTML structures supported by your bot -Why it doesn't support .net pages? is it a leak? -Why pages should be online? i am specifying an address that can be local or online. Waiting to hear any news, Keep it up, Peace.
